Xiaomi Launches Mi Band 3, Mi VR Standalone Headset, and Mi TV 4 75-inch in China

Xiaomi today introduced a wide array of products at its annual grand event in Shenzhen, China. Apart from its MIUI 10 software and three Mi 8 flagship variants, Xiaomi also introduced its new Mi Band 3, a Standalone VR headset, and a Mi TV 4 75 inch.

The next generation fitness tracker, Mi Band 3, has a bigger 0.78-inch OLED screen and includes features like NFC and heart rate sensor. It can track your activities, monitor sleep pattern, and can be used to check notifications and to receive incoming calls on paired devices.

The Mi Band 3 is also water and dust resistant (IP67) which means you will be able to wear it in the pool as well. The inbuilt 110mAh battery can last for 20 days on a single charge. The Mi Band 3 doesn’t see any appreciable upgrade it price. In China, it will be available for 167 Yuan which converts to Approx. Rs 1750. A variant without NFC support also exists and that will retail for a slightly cheaper price.

Standalone Mi VR headset

This is the same chipset that was developed in partnership with Oculus, the one we first witnessed at CES 2018, and which was later released globally as Oculus Go.

The VR headset is powered by Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor paired with 32GB/64GB storage, includes a 2K fast switch 72Hz screen, integrated speakers, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Mi VR has a specially-modulated diffractive optical system, with Fresnel lenses designed by Oculus. Sensors present include inertial sensor and distance sensor.

Mi VR headset weighs 425 grams without straps. A controller is used for navigating through the VR world and it comes bundled with the headset. Users will have access to over 1000 Oculus games from the get-go.  It will be available in China for a starting price of CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,800).

Mi TV 4 75-inch

Xiaomi also introduced its biggest TV ever. The Mi TV 4 75-inch supports 4K HDR videos and integrates Xiao Mi Assistant.

It’s powered by 1.8GHz Amlogic Cortex A53 quad-core SoC paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. Other features include 8W speakers, Dolby Audio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, three HDMI ports, an AV port, two USB ports, one Ethernet port, and S/PDIF.

The Mi TV 4 75-inch will be available in Black color option starting from June 10 in China, where it will cost CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 95,000).
