Vivo V15 launched in India: 32MP pop-up selfie camera, Helio P70 SoC, and 4000mAh battery
Vivo launched the Vivo V15 Pro with a pop-up selfie camera in the Indian market back in late February this year for a price of INR28,990. And now the company has introduced a new smartphone dubbed as the Vivo V15, which is basically a stripped down version of the Vivo V15 Pro .
The Vivo V15 is launched with a price tag of INR23,990 with the same selfie pop-up camera feature as its highlight. However, the new offering comes with slightly downgraded SoC and rear-camera setup. Also, the in-display fingerprint sensor is dropped in favor of a rear-mounted one. The battery sees an improvement though.
The Vivo V15 comes with a 6.53-inch (vs 6.39-inch of Vivo V15 Pro) full HD+ Ultra FullView display with 19.9:9 aspect ratio layered with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. In terms of muscle, the Vivo V15 now packs an octa-core MediaTek P70 SoC instead of Vivo V15 Pro’s Snapdragon 675 SoC.
The Vivo V15 comes only in one variant that encompasses 6GB RAM and 64 GB default storage, further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
The camera module at the back still comprises three sensors but the primary sensor is now of 12MP vis-à-vis a 48MP in the Vivo V15 Pro. The other two sensors, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP depth sensor, are intact though. For selfies, the front tacks on the same 32MP sensor as found in its Pro version but lacks in Face Unlock feature.
On the software side of things, the Vivo V15 runs Funtouch OS 9 laid on top of Android 9.0 Pie. Ticking the entire things is a bigger 4,000mAh battery with fast charging support compared to 37,000mAh battery housed inside the Vivo V15 Pro.
Regarding the connectivity options, it supports 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro USB, and 3.5mm audio jack. It weighs 189.5 grams and measures 161.97×75.93×8.54mm in dimension. The Vivo V15 is launched in three color options, namely Frozen Black, Glamor Red, and Royal Blue.
Besides Vivo India e-store, the handset will be available across all leading online stores from April 1 with preorders starting on March 25. The Vivo V15 will battle it out against another pop-up camera-equipped OPPO F11 Pro, which was launched earlier this month at a price of INR24,990.
