A day after launching the global variant of the Vivo S1 Pro with Snapdragon 665 SoC in the Philippines Vivo today launched the Vivo U20 in the Indian market. The smartphone is the successor to the Vivo U10 that was launched in September.
The Vivo U20 is budget-oriented smartphone like the Vivo U10 but with upgrades, however mainly in the processor and camera department. The new smartphone also gets a boost in the RAM capacity.
The Vivo U20 is priced at INR10,990 for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage model and INR11,990 for the 6GB RAM+64GB storage model. The smartphone will go on sale starting November 28 via Amazon India and vivo.com in Racing Black and Blaze Blue color options.
The Vivo U20 sports a 6.53-inch LCD notched display which is bigger than the 6.39-inch screen of the Vivo U10. The display comes with Full HD+ resolution, 90.3% screen-to-body ratio, and Widevine L1 certification for viewing HD content from various streaming websites.

Unlike the Snapdragon 665 SoC inside the Vivo U10, the Vivo U20 gets the Snapdragon 675 SoC bringing a 25% performance boost over the predecessor. The processor works in tandem with Adreno 612 GPU, 4GB/6GB RAM and 128GB built-in UFS 2.1 storage along with expandable storage of up to 256GB via microSD card.
Another salient aspect of the Vivo U20 is its massive 5,000mAh battery that draws the charge via micro USB port and is supported by 18W Dual-Engine fast charging, ensuring up to 273 hours of standby and 11 hours of YouTube viewing.
As far the optics are concerned, a triple camera setup like that in the Vivo U1 is also mounted on the backside of the Vivo U20 but with an upgraded 16MP Sony IMX499 primary sensor pairing with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. The front camera has also doubled up to 16MP from the 8MP.
The 3D curved back features a fingerprint scanner for biometrics along with a face unlock feature. Other notable aspects of the smartphone include Funtouch OS 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie, reverse charging support, ultra gaming mode, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS etc.
