Vivo iQOO Neo with Snapdragon 845 SoC and Liquid Cooling launched in China with starting price of 18,000 INR approx.

Since the time Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO promised to bring forth a trimmed-down version of the Vivo iQOO smartphone, it was speculated that the new handset will entail mid-range specifications.

But, it turns out that the new smartphone which is dubbed as the Vivo iQOO Neo is, in fact, a pretty compelling device as it is kitted with no mid-tier SoC but with a Snapdragon 845, which is just a year older flagship chipset powering the likes of the Google Pixel 3 series, the OPPO Find X, the OnePlus 6T, etc.

The Vivo iQOO Neo is launched in China today with the emphasis on its gaming prowess in line with the Vivo iQOO, which was launched early this year in March. The iQOO Neo comes with zero-lag touch acceleration technology that ensures improved gaming experience by keeping up with the user’s finger’s speed while dragging a controller on the screen.

Amongst other things, the smartphone comes with a Super AMOLED display, water-drop notch, triple-rear-camera setup, and a powerful 4,500mAh battery.

The Vivo iQOO Neo is launched with a starting price of CNY1,798 (Approx. INR18,000) for the base variant that has 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. While the 6GB RAM+128GB storage and 8GB RAM+64GB storage models are priced at CNY1,998 (Approx. INR20,000) and CNY2,098 (Approx. INR21,000) respectively. There is also a top-end model into the mix, having 8GB RAM and 128GB storage which will set you back CNY2,298 (Approx. INR23,000).

Getting into the specifications, the Vivo iQOO Neo flaunts a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC pumps power from under the hood in alliance with Adreno 630 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. The storage is expandable via miceoSD card, however.

In the camera department, it mounts a triple-rear-camera setup comprising a 12MP primary sensor, an 8MP super-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, inside the water-drop notch lurks a 12MP selfie shooter.

To keep the show up and running, the iQOO Neo is fitted with a 45,000mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging filling the battery by up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. On the software side of things, it boots Android 9 Pie with FuntouchOS 9 overlay.

Staying true to its gaming-centric approach, the iQOO Neo comes with 4D Game Shock 2.0 technology for improved in-game vibration tech. In addition, it is endowed with Super Liquid Cooling technology as well to keep the handset cool even during heavy-duty games play.

The Vivo iQOO Neo will go on sale starting July 8 in the Chinese market in Carbon Black and Electro-optic Violet color options to choose from. With Vivo iQOO not launching in India, there is little chance that the iQOO Neo will make its way to the country either.
