Indian technology company Smartron has launched its first wearable dubbed as tband that, unlike most other affordable options, can measure ECG and Blood pressure as well. The new fitness band is the first product belonging to the TronX health ecosystem that Smartron will be building moving forward.
The tband will retail exclusively on Flipkart starting from May 13 for Rs. 4,999. Smartron will also bundle a premium leather strap for people who buy it on the launch day itself.
Talking of features, the tband has a 0.96-inch OLED display and can pair with Android 5.0+ and iOS 8.0+ devices using Bluetooth LE. It includes three sensors – 3-Axis Accelerometer, ECG, Optical heart rate monitor (PPG) – using which it can monitor heart rate, track sleep cycles, and track activities like running, walking, etc.
On the inside, there is MTK2523/MTK2511 chipset paired with 4MB of memory. All data is synced with Smartron’s own thealth app.
The 100mAh battery on the tband can last for 2 days of standard use. The tband is also dust and water resistant certified (IP67). Out of the box, you will get a silicon strap with stainless steel bang buckle. But since the band uses regular 18mm strap, you can get it replaced at local shops without spending too much.
tbands ability to measure ECG and Blood Pressure is what makes it stand out. The analysis the data to monitor your stress and fatigue factor, and that’s something most of us could use on our fitness trackers.
