Sharp today launched its affordable Aquos S3 Mini – a compact, slim and light phone that comes with Essential-phone-like display notch. In spite of the notch-design and 87.5-percent screen-to-body ratio, there is a generous bottom bezel present on the phone. This isn’t a complete waste of space, though as this is where sharp places the fingerprint sensor.
The Aquos S3 Mini comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD+ display that, according to company claims, can get up to 550 Nits bright. The phone is powered by 14nm based 2.2GHz octa-core processor paired with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of storage. Using the hybrid SIM slot, you can also add up to 128GB of secondary storage as well.
For photography, the handset includes 16MP rear camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, the phone has a 20MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture housed within the display notch.
The software running on the phone is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Other features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, and 3020mAh battery.
The Sharp Aquos S3 Mini is available for pre-order for 1600 Yuan which converts to roughly Rs. 16,000.
