Samsung Galaxy A70 debuts with in-display fingerprint scanner and triple-rear camera setup
We already know that Samsung is dropping a new smartphone, purportedly the Galaxy A90 with a pop-up selfie camera, on April 10. But before that, the South Korean tech giant has unwrapped another Galaxy A-series smartphone, the Galaxy A70.
The new smartphone featuring a bigger display, in-display fingerprint scanner, triple-rear cameras, and a heftier battery comes across as a drummed up version of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy A50.
Starting off with the display, the Samsung Galaxy A70 packs a whopping 6.7-inch Infinity U Super AMOLED display with full HD+ (2400x1080p) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. Pumping power from under the hood is an unspecified 2.0GHz octa-core processor. The smartphone comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM variations having fixed 128GB in-built storage. The storage is expandable up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot, however.
For the optics, the Galaxy A70 sports triple-camera module on the back comprising a 32MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
A 32MP selfie-camera with f/2.0 aperture is mounted on the front inside a water-drop notch. The selfie camera also acts as Face Unlock for biometrics. This is in addition to fingerprint sensor technology integrated right into the display.
The Galaxy A70 boots Android 9.0 Pie with One UI running on top. A 4,500mAh battery supported with 25W SuperFast charge supplies ample fuel to the handset.
The Galaxy A70 comes with the so-called 3D Glasstic design that combines both glass and plastic. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge of the device. The handset comes with on-trend USB Type-C port but at the same time holds on to the traditional 3.5mm audio jack as well. Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS. The Galaxy A70 will come in Black, Blue, Coral, and White paint jobs.
All said and done, despite launching the handset Samsung has, so far, divulged nothing about its price and the availability. We expect the company to be revealing details in this regard on April 10 when it will unveil the alleged Galaxy A90. Till then you please stay tuned with us.
