Redmi Note 9 with 48MP quad rear camera launched in India, starting at 11,999 INR
Redmi today launched the Redmi Note 9 in India completing the triad of the Redmi Note 9 series following the launch of the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max in March this year. Before landing in India, the Redmi Note 9 was launched in the International market in April.
The Redmi Note 9 boasts of a 48MP quad-rear camera, a big battery, and a punch-holed display. Unlike the Redmi Note 9 global variant, the one that has been shown the light in the Indian market doesn’t include 3GB RAM variant.
The Redmi Note 9 base variant in the Indian market is of 4GB RAM+64GB storage configuration which is priced at INR11,999. The other two options, the 4GB RAM+128GB storage model and the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model are priced at INR13,499 and INR14,999, respectively.
The Redmi Note 9 is built around a 6.53-inch full HD+ (1080×2340) LCD display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone pushes up to 450 nits of brightness.
Under the hood, the Redmi Note 9 is kitted with an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 129GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB using microSD card via a dedicated slot. The smartphone boots Android 10 with MIUI 11 running on top.

As to the cameras, the Realme Note 9 mounts a square-shaped four cameras module at the back. The setup includes a 48MP f/1.79 Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide sensor with 118-degree field of view, and a pair of 2MP sensors- one for the depth sensing and one for the macro shot. The punch-hole cutout on the display’s top-left corner houses a 13MP sensor for selfie and video calling purposes.
The smartphone is backed by a large 5,020mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging. A compatible charger is also bundled with the smartphone. It also supports 9W reverse charging.
On the connectivity front, the Redmi Note 9 supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Amongst other things, the phone comes with P2i coating and 1216 linear speaker.
The first sale of the Redmi Note 9 is slated to take place on July 24 on Amazon India and Mi.com. The phone will be available in Aqua Green, Pebble Gray, and Arctic White color options.
