Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro (global variant), and Mi Note 10 Lite launched
Last month Xiaomi’s subsidiary Redmi launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India. However, back then the vanilla Redmi Note 9 was missing in action. But today Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 9 in an online event along with the Redmi Note 9 Pro (Redmi Note 9 Pro Max’s global variant) as well as the Mi Note 10 Lite, a stripped-down version of the Mi Note 10.
Redmi Note 9: Specs, prices, and availability
Starting with the Redmi Note 9, the new smartphone flaunts a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a punch-hole cutout at the top-left corner which houses a 13MP selfie shooter.
The rear of the phone mounts a centre-aligned quad-rear camera array with a 48MP sensor leading the show. The other three sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and another 2MP macro sensor. The back also mounts a fingerprint scanner sitting just below the camera module.
At its gut, the Redmi Note 9 packs a MediaTek Helio P85 SoC with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G52 GPU. The phone will be offered in 3GB RAM+64GB storage and 4GB RAM+128GB storage configuration. Due to the presence of a dedicated microSD card slot users can expand the storage to up to 128GB.
A 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support juices the phone which runs Android 10 with MIUI 11 thrown at the top. As far as the connectivity options are concerned the Redmi Note 9 supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, IR Blaster, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack.
Clad in Forest Green, Polar White, and Midnight Gray paint jobs the Redmi Note 9 is set for USD199 (Approx. INR14,940) for the 3GB RAM model and USD249 (Approx. INR18,690) for the 4GB RAM model. The smartphone will hit the shelves in the international markets towards the middle of the next month.
Redmi Note 9 Pro (global variant): Specs, prices, and availability
If we talk about the Redmi Note 9 Pro (global variant), it is identical to the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that was earlier launched in India. The device comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, 64MP quad-rear camera, 32MP selfie camera, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The phone will be available in a two-tone finish with the color options such as Green, Gray, and White later this month in the global market priced at USD269 (Approx. INR20,200) for the 6GB RAM+64GB storage model and USD299 (Approx. INR22,440) for the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model.
Mi Note 10 Lite: Specs, prices, and availability
Moving on, the Mi Note 10 Lite comes in 6.47-inch 19.5:9 FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a water drop-style notch home to a 16MP selfie camera. The rear is tacked on with a quad-rear camera setup led by a 64MP primary sensor which is further joined by an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor.
Pumping power from under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC mated to 8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB default storage without any expansion support, however.
On the software side, the Mi Note 10 Lite runs MIUI 11 atop Android 10 and houses a 5,260mAh battery available with an in-box 30W fast charger. The device supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C, IR Blaster, and an in-display fingerprint scanner
The Redmi Note 10 Lite is priced at EUR349 (Approx. INR28,530) for the 64GB storage variant while costs EUR399 (Approx. INR32,620) for the 128GB storage variant. The phone will be available in Nebula Purple, Glacier White, and Midnight Black color options from the middle of May.
