Redmi K20 and K20 Pro launched in India with prices respectively starting at 21,999 INR and 27,999 INR

After successfully building up a great deal of hype around the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones, Xiaomi has just launched them in the Indian market today. Tagging along is also a Special Edition of the Redmi K20 Pro with pure gold and diamond studded body which is priced at a whopping INR4,80,000.

The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro bear a ton of similarities in terms of specs and features. However, the major difference between them is the processor. While the Redmi K20 Pro comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, the Redmi K20 makes use of a Snapdragon 730 SoC.

Both the devices feature same size display, in-display fingerprint scanner, 20MP pop-up selfie camera, and the same triple-rear-camera setup with slight variation.

Both the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are stacked with a 4,000mAh battery but the former has 18W fast charging support whereas the latter supports 27W fast charging. Both boots Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 skin running over.

The Redmi K20 and K20 flaunt a 6.39-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio,91.9% screen-to-body ratio, HDR support, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The pop-up selfie camera allows the display to acquire full-screen real estate for immersive viewing experience.

The Redmi K20 Pro is powered by 7nm Qualcomm 855 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 640 GPU, whereas, the Redmi K20 is driven by an 8nm Snapdragon 730 octa-core SoC mated to Adreno 618 GPU. The Redmi K20 packs 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage while the K20 Pro has 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. Internal storage of both the devices can, however, be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.

Talking about the camera department, both mount a triple-rear-camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a 13MP ultra wide-angle sensor. For a difference, the Redmi K20 Pro uses Sony IMX586 primary sensor while the Redmi K20 makes do with a Sony IMX582 primary sensor. For a selfie shooter, both the handsets are armed with 20MP pop-up camera which doubles as Face Unlock as well.

The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro both uses USB Type-C port and also keep the traditional 3.5mm audio jack intact. Additionally, the Redmi K20 Pro  comes with Always on Display, DC Dimming, and system wide Dark Mode.

So far as the pricing and availability are concerned, The Redmi K20 is priced at INR21,999 for 6GB RAM+64GB storage model and INR23,999 for 6GB RAM+128GB storage model. On the other hand, the premium Redmi K20 Pro is priced at INR27,999 for 6GB RAM+128GB storage variant and INR30,999 for 8GB RAM+256GB storage variant.

Both the smartphones will be available starting from July 22 on Flipkart in three color options: Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red.
