On schedule, the Redmi 10X series has gone official in China today. The 10X series consists of three devices, namely the Redmi 10X 5G, the Redmi 10X 5G Pro, and the Redmi 10X 4G. The latter one is, however, a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9.
Redmi 10X 5G and 10X 5G Pro
Talking about the Redmi 10X 5G and the Redmi 10X 5G Pro, both the phones flaunt a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with a water-drop notch, in-display fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both the smartphones make use of MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC with dual 5G connectivity. The chipset is mated to 6GB or 8GB RAM in the case of the Redmi 10X 5G versus a standard 8GB RAM in the Pro version.
Both the phones make use of Mali G-57 MC5 GPU, up to 256GB internal storage, and a dedicated MicroSD slot for storage expansion. The Redmi 10X series runs MIUI 11 atop Android 10.
The Redmi 10X 5G mounts a triple-rear camera setup while the Redmi 10X 5G Pro comes with quad-rear camera setup; both having a 48MP primary sensor as well as an 8MP ultra-wide sensor in common.
While the Redmi 10X 5G includes a 2MP depth sensor as the third sensor the Redmi 10X Pro adds an extra 8MP telephoto sensor with 3X optical zoom and OIS as well as a 5MP macro sensor at the back. A 16MP and a 20MP selfie shooters find their places on the Redmi 10X 5G and the Redmi 10X 5G Pro, respectively.
Each of the phones draws fuel from a 4,520mAh battery with the vanilla version getting a 22.5 fast charging and the Pro version getting 33W fast charging. Both the phones wield a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both have an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance. However, NFC is only available with the Redmi 10X 5G Pro.
Redmi 10X 4G
On the other hand, the third smartphone in the 10x series, the Redmi 10X 4G is the same as the Redmi Note 9 which was launched globally last month. The smartphone features a 6.53-inch full HD+ IPS LCD screen and is fueled by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
The quad rear-camera array includes a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP macro sensor and another 2MP depth sensor. The front has a tiny punch-hole cutout on the top left corner that houses a 13MP front-facing camera for selfie and video chatting purposes.
On the software side of things, the Redmi 10X 4G runs MIUI 11 with Android 10 as the base. A 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging supplies juice to the device via USB Type-C. The phone holds on the traditional 3.5mm audio jack, however.
