Following a lot of hype the Realme XT, the first smartphone in India with the much-vaunted 64MP camera has been launched at an event in New Delhi today. The Realme XT belongs to the Realme’s newly minted premium X series.
The Realme XT is launched at a price of INR15,999 for the base 4GB RAM+64GB storage model. For the 6GB RAM+64GB storage model it is priced at INR16,999 and for the top-end 8GB RAM+128GB storage model it costs INR 18,999.
The smartphone will go on sale starting September 16 exclusively on Flipkart in two color options such as Pearl White and Pearl Blue. The company says the phone will soon be available offline as well.
The Realme XT comes with a 64MP AI Quad rear camera, a bigger battery, Snapdragon 712 SoC, dewdrop notch and in-display fingerprint scanner on board as some of its highlighting features.
The Realme XT features Hyperbola 3D glass design. It rocks a 6.4-inch 1080×2340 FHD+ Super AMOLED display. The device gets the protection of Gorilla Glass 5 both on front and back.
The smartphone draws stamina from a 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 616 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage which is expandable using a dedicated microSD card slot.
The Realme XT runs Android 9 Pie underneath improved ColorOS 6 with features like Dark Mode, Customized Fonts, Digital Wellbeing, and App Clone on board. The device is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging support
Now on to the camera department which is the salient aspect of the Realme XT. The smartphone mounts a 16MP selfie shooter with f/1.7 aperture on the front. The back features a vertical quad-camera setup that includes an 8MP 119-degree wide-angle sensor with f/2.25 aperture, a 2MP macro sensor as well as a 2MP depth sensor both with f/2.4 aperture.
However, the star of the show is 64MP AI-backed primary sensor with 1.8 aperture. Realme has used the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP sensor that uses the pixel-binning technique, merging four pixels into one for better details, especially in low light conditions. The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at 30fps.
Amongst other things, the Realme XT comes with Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Also, the device has the support for Dolby Atmos audio along with Super Liner Speaker and Super Power Amplifier.
The Realme XT will be squaring off with the Redmi Note 8 Pro that also boasts 64MP Quad camera along with an Helio G90T processor. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will, however, see the daylight in India in October.
