Realme X2 Pro launched with 90Hz display, SD 855+ SoC, and 50W SuperVOOC fast charge

After doing exceptionally well in the budget and low mid-range space Realme has today launched its first premium smartphone, the Realme X2 Pro that includes Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, up to 12GB RAM, 64MP Quad Camera, 90Hz AMOLED display, and 50W SuperVOOC fast charge.

The Realme X2 Pro has been first launched in China and slated to see the daylight in Europe later today as well. As far as the launch in India is concerned, Realme India head Madhav Seth has confirmed it will enter the Indian market in December this year. To note, in December Realme is also to introduce the Realme X2, by the name of Realme XT 730G in the Indian market.

The Realme X2 Pro is priced at CNY2,699 (Approx. INR27,200) for the 6GB RAM+ 64GB storage model and CNY2,899 (Approx. INR29,200) for the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model. The top-end 12GB RAM+256GB storage model costs CNY3,299 (Approx. INR33,200). In China, the handset will go on sale starting October 18 in White and Blue color options.

Realme has also launched a Realme X2 Pro Master Edition with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Master Edition is marked by its frosted glass protection with Brick and Cement color finish. Otherwise, its specifications are the same as the normal Realme X2 Pro.


Spec-wise, the Realme X2 Pro features a 6.5-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED Fluid display with 20:9 aspect ratio and 91.7% screen-to-body ratio. The display supports 90Hz refresh rate similar to the Oneplus 7 Pro. Gorilla Glass 5 protected display is also equipped with HDR 10+ and DC dimming 2.0 technology.

Under the hood, the Realme X2 Pro is fitted with the latest 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 640 GPU, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB  internal UFS 3.0 storage.

Turning to the back, the Realme X2 Pro sports a quad-camera setup housing a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 f/1.8 primary sensor paired with 13MP f/2.5 telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. Additionally, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 115-degree field of view and a 2MP depth sensor round off the quad-camera setup. On the front, a 16MP f/2.0 Sony IMX471 sensor lies inside the water-drop notch also doubling as face unlock. However, a fingerprint scanner is integrated into the display for biometrics.

The Realme X2 Pro runs Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 slapped on top. A 4,000mAh battery with 50W SuperVOOC fast charge support supplies juice to the device. As per the company, the battery takes just 35 minutes to charge to the brim.

Amongst other things, the handset has the support for NFC, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and GPS. The Realme X2 Pro comes with dual speakers supported by Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. The Realme X2 Pro with top-line specs and affordable pricing takes aim at the likes of the Redmi K20 Pro and the OnePlus 7T.
