Realme 6 series launched with 90Hz display and 64MP quad-rear camera, price starts at 12,999 INR
Riding on the success of the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, the OPPO’s spin-off brand has launched Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro in India today with drastic improvements compared to their successors. Both the smartphones have 90Hz display, 64MP quad-rear camera, and 30W fast charging technology as their defining features
Apart from that, both the devices feature Realme UI based on Android 10, Full HD+ resolution, side-mounted fingerprint scanner. USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
For differentiations, both are powered by different processors. Also, the Realme 6 Pro mounts dual-selfie camera while the Realme 6 makes do with a single selfie shooter.
Pricing and availability
The Realme 6 is priced at INR12,999 for the 4GB RAM+64GB storage model, INR14,999 for the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model, and INR15,999 for the top-end 8GB RAM+128GB storage model. The smartphone will go on sale starting March 11 via Flipkart and Realme.com.
On the other hand, the Realme 6 Pro starts at INR16,999 for the 6GB RAM+64GB storage model. The 6GB RAM+128GB storage and the 8GB RAM+128GB storage variants will set you back INR17,999 and INR18,999, respectively. The Realme 6 Pro will be available to purchase from March 16 via Flipkart and Realme.com.
The Realme 6 comes in Comet White and Comet Blue color options with a back that dazzles in a comet-like brightness. The smartphone features a 6.-5-inch 20:9 punch-hole display with 2400x1080p full HD+ resolution, 90.5% screen-to-body ratio, and up to 90Hz refresh rates.
On the inside, the Realme is underpinned by MediaTek Helio G90T gaming-oriented SoC. The smartphone packs 4GB/6GB/8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage with expandability support of up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.
Around the back, the quad-rear-camera setup is comprised of a 64MP GW1 primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP B&W portrait sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. The camera supports 4K video recording, UIS video stabilization, Nightscape 2.0, Chroma Boost, etc. Upfront, a 16MP selfie shooter is lurking inside the left-aligned punch-hole cutout.
The Realme 6 gets a 4,300mAh battery armed with 30W FlashCharge support that can fill the battery to 68% in just 30 minutes.
Realme 6 Pro
The Realme 6 Pro will be available in Lightning Blue and Lightning Orange paint jobs. The back of the phone reflects the lightning effect and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 just like the front. The phone is built around a 6.6-inch 20:9 dual punch-hole display with the same 90Hz refresh rates and full HD+ (2400x1080p) resolution as the Realme 6. The display of the Realme 6 Pro has a slightly better 90.6% screen-to-body ratio, however.
Under the hood, the Realme 6 Pro makes use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset for the first time in the industry. The phone features 6GB/8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB/128GB default storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.
Regarding optics, unlike the Realme 6, the Realme 6 Pro features two selfie cameras in 16MP (primary) +8MP (ultra-wide) array. The rear-camera setup of the Realme 6 Pro is the same as Realme 6 with the exception that the 2MP portrait sensor is replaced by a 12MP telephoto sensor.
For fuel, the Realme 6 Pro also depends on the same 4,300mAh battery with 30W FlashCharge technology just like in the case of the Realme 6.
For better sound quality and improved volume, the Realme 6 Pro features Super Linear speakers, Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification. Amongst other things, the smartphone comes with Dual-frequency GPS and ISRO NavIC support.
