POCO X2 with 120Hz display and 64MP quad camera launched in India starting at 15,999 INR
After becoming independent of Xiaomi, POCO has launched its first smartphone under the affordable X-series in India. Dubbed as the POCO X2, is a rebranded version of the Redmi K30 4G smartphone which was launched in China in December last year.
The POCO X2 comes after a year and a half of the launch of the POCO F1 by Xiaomi. The POCO F1 was offered with top-of-the-line hardware at a mid-level price which had created a storm in the smartphone market.
The POCO X2 also comes with exciting specs and features that include 120Hz display, 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, Snapdragon 730G SoC, the Liquid Cooling system as well as 27W fast charging support. This hardware package is enough to lure buyers for a price that starts only at INR15,999.
The base price is for the 6GB RAM+64GB storage model while the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model and the 8GB RAM+256GB storage model are respectively priced at INR16,999 and INR19,999. Customers using ICICI card or EMI transactions will further get an instant discount of INR1,000.
The sale starts from February 11 exclusively on Flipkart. The smartphone will come in Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, and Phoenix Red color options with gradient finish.
Delving into the detailed specs, the POCO X2 packs a 6.67-inch 2400x1080p Full HD+ IPS LCD screen with 20:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. For better app and gaming experience the display uses 120Hz refresh rate which is first for any smartphone in this affordable segment.
The display has a pill-shaped punch-hole cutout on the top right for dual selfie cameras that include a 20MP+2MP array. There is no in-display fingerprint scanner here but the same is mounted on the side, integrated with the home button.

The POCO X2 is helmed by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G octa-core SoC which ticks alongside Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. On the software side, the device boots MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
Additionally, to withstand the intense gaming load the phone is also equipped with Liquid Cooling technology which is said to provide 600 percent better heat dissipation than a normal phone without this feature.
The POCO X2 gets juiced up by a 4,500mAh battery which draws charge via USB Type-C port and is supported by 27W fast charging brick bundled inside the box.
Amongst other notable features, the POCO X2 comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Hybrid SIM slot, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, and P2i splash resistance.
In terms of competition, the POCO X2 aims at the Realme X2 which falls in the same ballpark with similar hardware. However, the presence of 120Hz display and dual-selfie cameras swings the balance in favor of the POCO X2 to some extent.
