Google showcased its latest tablet Pixel C along with nexus smartphones at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday. It comes in two storage variants- 32GB variant will be available for $499, while the 64GB variant will be priced at $599 INR.
Google Pixel C features a 10.2 inch display with the resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels which amounts to 308 ppi. It is powered by NVIDIA Octa Core Tegra X1 processor coupled with 256-core Maxwell GPU and 3GB of RAM.
This is first Android tablet which is completely made by Google. Pixel C, obviously, runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and Google assures that it will receive software updates every six weeks. There is an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front snapper for video calls as well. Connectivity features include Wi-fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2×2 MIMO, UCB Type C port and Bluetooth
Since this a productivity oriented tablet, Google also showcased a Keyboard accessory which magnetically clings to the tablet. This also makes Pixel C the first Google alternative to Surface pro or iPad pro. If you are heavily invested in Android ecosystem and are looking for something with a keyboard, this shall be one of the best alternatives.
Do you really want an Android laptop? If yes, you will have to wait till the end of the year holiday season, when the Pixel C is expected to launch in selected markets. More details will be revealed closer to the official launch.
