nubia Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone launched in India, price starts at 35,999 INR

So far this year a slew of flagship level phones have seen the light in India and now in the country enters the nubia Red Magic 3, a smartphone from the ZTE’s sub-brand nubia. The new flagship phone is purpose-built for the gamers and therefore will butt its head against the likes of the ASUS ROG phone and the Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gaming smartphones.

The nubia Red Magic 3 succeeds the nubia Red Magic Mars and also design-wise mimics the same but it comes with top-notch upgrades. The smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and a massive 5,000mAh battery along with 90Hz refresh rate HDR display.

However, the chief attraction of the nubia Red Magic 3 is its gaming PC-inspired active liquid cooling system that for the first time for any phone features turbofans. The cooling system effectively transfers heat by up to 500 percent. The phone makes use of actual heat vents to keep it cool.

The device in order to allow full-view gaming experience packs a whopping 6.65-inch full HD+ HDR AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, 430 nits of brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. To create a robust soundscape, it is laced with front-mounted dual stereo speakers, DTS:X and 3D surround sound technologies.

Under the hood, the nubia Red Magic 3 is powered by a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 640 GPU, up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB default storage.

For it is the gaming smartphone the camera is not its strong suit. The Red Magic 3 nonetheless mounts a single 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture at the back. Up front, it carries a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture for selfie and video chatting purposes. It can record videos in 8K resolution and slow-motion videos at 1920 fps.

Unlike its predecessor, the nubia Red Magic 3 shows a steep departure in battery department as it houses a humongous 5,000mAh battery compared to 3,800mAh found in the nubia Red Magic Mars. It supports 27W fast charging over USB Type-C port, ensuring one-hour gameplay in just 10 minutes of charging.

On the software side of things, the smartphone runs Android 9 Pie with Redmagic 2.0 UI laid on top. It supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc. Despite the beefy size battery it weighs 215 grams and measures 171.7×78.5×9.65mm in dimension.

The nubia Red Magic 3 also comes with capacitive shoulder buttons that can be customized for individual games and not to mention it features the iconic RGB light strip vertically extended at the center of the metallic rear panel.

The nubia Red Magic 3 will go on sale on Flipkart starting June 27 for a price of INR35,999 for the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model and INR46,999 for the top-end 12GB RAM+256GB storage variant. While the former model will be available in Red and Black color options the later will come in Camouflage paint job.
