The Nokia Lumia 800 smartphone has a single piece body that is equipped with a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen. The 3.7 inch Screen is capable of producing 16 Million colors and offers you a resolution of 480X800 pixels. The display of the phone is outstanding and the user is able to read and see the text clearly even under the direct sunlight. Nokia Lumia 800 comes with Gorilla Glass protection for the screen. The touch and the GUI response of the device is simply awesome.

Operating System & Software

The phone is powered by the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS. This is the latest stable version of the Windows Phone 7 and has major improvements in the multi-tasking, synchronization and battery backups. Bing is the default search engine being used in the phone and it works quite smoothly. The phone comes preloaded with various applications such as Bing maps, Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive etc. We tested the Nokia Drive app and were really amazed by the accuracy of the app. Turn by turn navigation is another feature present in the app which makes it more interesting to use.

Hardware & Processor

The Nokia Lumia 800 is powered by a single Qualcomm processor which has the CPU clock rate of 1.4 GHz. Phone comes with 16 GB internal memory along with 512 MB RAM. There is no external slot given by the company to increase the storage capacity of the phone. Though 16GB is more than enough to store you videos, songs and other files. Still a lot of people keep their backup data on the memory cards and this device lacks the external memory card slot which might annoy them. Though in such cases the data can be easily transferred to your computer for taking backups.

Battery Backup

Nokia Lumia 800 offers a battery backup of around 9.5 Hrs which is the maximum talk time while using 3G. Phone can remain in standby mode for around 335 Hrs on 3G. Phone offers a maximum music playback time of around 55 Hrs and 6.5 Hrs of video playback time.

The phone has a number of connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE, USB 2.0, Bluetooth Audio Stereo etc. Nokia Lumia 800 uses Micro Sim card. Being a windows phone you cannot transfer files to other phones using Bluetooth as it lacks Bluetooth file transfer protocol.

Music Experience

The music experience on the phone is really good and we are impressed by its capabilities. Nokia offers 2 Music Services for the Lumia 800 i.e Zune and Nokia Music. Phone has a Stereo FM Radio and there are number of music related apps which can downloaded from the marketplace.

These days nearly everyone love to play games in their free time and Nokia Lumia 800 Takes the mobile gaming to the next level. Xbox Live has been integrated into the Phone and it is also equipped with the Adreno 205 Graphics which makes your device capable of playing even the high end games. You can even play games online with your friends but you need to have an Xbox Live Gaming account. There are a number of free games on the Xbox live market which you can enjoy.

Final Verdict

On the whole, the phone has fulfilled my expectations. This is in fact one of the best windows phone I have ever used. Touch interface of the phone, 1.4Ghz Processor, 8MP camera and the inbuilt support for various social media accounts are some of the best features present in the phone. Using Nokia Lumia 800 is truly an amazing experience. If you are looking for a windows phone then you must checkout the Nokia Lumia 800. Nokia Lumia 800 Comes with a price tag of Rs 24,990.
