Nokia 6.2 with Snapdragon 636 SoC and triple-rear cameras launched in India for 15,999 INR
HMD Global launched the Nokia 7.2 and the Nokia 6.2 mid-range smartphones at IFA 2019, out of which the better spec’d Nokia 7.2 made it to the Indian market in the middle of the last month. And now the Nokia 6.2 has also been launched in the country, albeit quietly. The Nokia 6.2 comes with a water-drop notch display, triple-rear-camera setup, and Snapdragon 636 SoC.
The Nokia 6.2 is priced at INR15,999 for the single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The smartphone is already up for sale on Amazon India as well as Nokia.com and major Nokia offline partners across the country. So far only the Ceramic Black color variant of the device is listed for sale; however, the Ice color variant will also be on offer later on.
The Nokia 6.2 on Amazon India comes with an exchange offer of up to INR10,100. Also, the phone is available on no-cost EMI, 10% cashback up to INR2,000 with HDFC Bank Debit cards and 5% instant discount with HSBC Cashback card, among others.
In terms of the spec sheet, the Nokia 6.2 flaunts a 6.3-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 support, and 500 nits peak brightness. The PureView display comes with a water-drop notch housing the selfie camera.
A plastic frame separates the Gorilla Glass 3 protected front and back panel. There is a fingerprint scanner at the back along with a circular-shaped camera setup and LED flash.
Under the hood, the Nokia 6.2 draws power from a 1.9GHz octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC, which is configured with Adreno 509 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB built-in storage. The storage can be further expanded up to 512GB via microSD card but without a dedicated slot.
It seems the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model is not considered for the Indian market.
The triple camera setup at the back comes with the combination of a 16MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. Upfront, the Nokia 6.2 makes use of an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter
The smartphone boots no-frills stock version of Android 9 Pie. A 3,500mAh battery with 10W fast charging capability supplies ample juice to the phone. The standard connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0. 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port.
The Nokia 6.2 might face challenges from a host of similarly priced Chinese smartphones that offer much better specifications. Then again, the Nokia 6.2 has the brand cachet to remain afloat in the competition.
