Lenovo launched Legion Y740 and Y540 gaming laptops in India, pricing starts at 69,990 INR

With a 46% market share in the personal computer segment, Lenovo has been the leading brand in the Indian market. But it is also eyeing to dominate the burgeoning gaming space in the country.

To that end, the company has launched two Legion series gaming laptops- the Legion Y740 and Legion Y540- in India. These laptops were first showcased at CES 2019 earlier this year. They come packed with the nearly borderless display, 9th Gen Intel Core mobile processors, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics to deliver desktop-like performance.

The Laptop Y740 comes with an initial price tag of INR1, 29,990 while starting with INR69, 990 the Legion Y540 is more affordable version. The laptops are available to purchase via Lenovo’s official website, leading online retailers, and Lenovo offline stores.

Talking about the Lenovo Legion Y740, the laptop is machined out of aluminum and features narrow bezels along with customizable RGB lighting on the Corsair-made keyboard and inside the thermal vents. The FHD IPS display is of 15.6-inch in size and Dolby Vision HDR compatible with up to 500 nits brightness and 144Hz refresh rate. A 720p webcam is repositioned at the bottom as well.


On the inside, the Legion Y740 is powered by a 9th Gen Intel i7-9750H processor coupled with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q graphics, 16GB RAM upgradeable up to 32GB and up to 1TB M.2 SSD internal storage.

For superior gaming experience, the Y740 is armed with a 2x2W Dolby Atmos system speaker with Dolby Sound Radar. The laptop ships with Windows 10 Home and is fueled by a 3 cell 57Watt hour battery ensuring up to 5 hours of usage on a single charge.

In terms of connectivity options, the device supports Wi-Fi, Killer 2×2 AC Bluetooth 4.1, one USB 3.2 Gen2 port, two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, HDMI, RJ45, miniDP, and USB Type-C port.

The Legion Y540, on the other hand, being the less premium offering is made out of plastic and stripped of the RGB lighting. The display goes up to only 300nits of brightness. While under the hood the specs are same as the Legion Y740, it only features up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

Alongside the Legion Y740 and Y540, Lenovo also announced the Legion T730 and T530 gaming desktops, the M500 gaming mouse, the K500 RGB mechanical keyboard, and the H300 & H500 gaming headsets.
