JioPhone 2 announced with QWERTY keyboard, Dual SIM for Rs. 2999 – Starts Selling August 15
Jio has announced the JioPhone 2, the successor to the widely successful JioPhone that was launched last year. The JioPhone 2 comes with a whole new design which brings back the memories of using a QWERTY phone from a few years back.
The JioPhone 2, as mentioned is a QWERTY phone that comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen. It supports Dual SIM which is an improvement over the last JioPhone and that accepted a single SIM. The JioPhone 2 has support for cat.4 LTE and it can go up to 150Mbps for downloads. It supports Band 3, 5 and 40 for LTE and band 900 and 1800 for 2G.
Just like the last year’s JioPhone, the JioPhone 2 also runs on KaiOS. The phone also has the same cameras, storage, and RAM like the last year’s JioPhone.
Reliance Jio isn’t going to discontinue the last year’s JioPhone’s sale and instead of that, JioPhone and JioPhone 2 will sell side by side as options for the users.
