Infinix S5 Pro with pop-up selfie camera and 48MP triple-rear camera launched for 9,999 INR

Hong Kong-based Transsion Holding’s subsidiary Infinix Mobiles has launched its latest affordable smartphone, the Infinix S5 Pro in the Indian market. The new smartphone comes with a pop-up selfie camera mechanism and 48MP led triple-rear camera setup as its highlights.

The Infinix S5 Pro with a price tag of INR9,999 is one of the cheapest smartphones out in the wild with a pop-up camera. The smartphone will go on sale starting March 13 on Flipkart in two paint jobs such as Forest Green and Violet.

Regarding specifications, the Infinix S5 Pro packs a 6.53-inch full HD+ (1080x2220p) display with 480 nits brightness, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 91% percent screen-to-body ratio. The back of the phone features 3D glass finish while the front has 2.5D glass finish.

Under the hood, the Infinix S5 Pro integrates a MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core SoC mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card in a dedicated slot. On the software side of things, the Infinix S5 Pro boots Android 10 with XOS 6.0 running on top.

Around the back, the Infinix S5 Pro mounts a triple-rear camera setup in vertical alignment and a fingerprint scanner in the middle. The camera setup comprises a 48MP f/1.79 primary sensor with HDR and Night Mode support. Complementing it there is a 2MP portrait sensor and a dedicated low-light sensor array.

Upfront a 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter is fitted in the pop-up slider, equipped with AI portrait and 3D face beauty mode. It also doubles as the Face Unlock.

Ticking everything is a 4,000mAh battery which lasts up to 28 hours of music playback. The battery is supported by 10W charging brick out-of-the-box. There is no USB Type-C port; rather there is a micro USB port along with the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack.

Amongst other things, the Infinix S5 Pro supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth 5.0. The smartphone weighs 194 grams and measures 162.5×76.88×8.95mm in dimension.

In terms of competition, the Infinix S5 Pro will battle it out against the likes of the Redmi Note 8, the Realme C2, the Realme 5i, etc. which fall in the same ballpark.
