Transsion Holding’s online-exclusive brand Infinix is seemingly on smartphone launching spree as it took the wraps off yet another smartphone, the Infinix Hot 8 for the Indian market. This comes after the launch of the Infinix S4 2.0 earlier last month.
The Infinix Hot 8 is a budget-oriented smartphone which is launched with a price tag of INR6,999 with availability starting on September via Flipkart. It must be noted that it is an introductory price and the phone will cost INR7,999 from October 31 once the offer ends.
The smartphone will be available in two color pallets, namely Quentzal Cyan and Cosmic Purple. The Infinix Hot 8 despite being an entry-level offering boasts of a tall aspect ratio, impressive triple-rear cameras, octa-core SoC, Dirac HD surround sound, and above all a beefy battery pack.
Digging into the deets, the Hot 8 makes use of a 6.52-inch display with 2.5D curved glass, 90.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, and a tall 20:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with 1600x720p HD+ resolution and 450nits brightness. There is a small water-drop notch at the front, and bezels are impressively minimal from all the sides.
- Infinix S4 2.0 with 32MP AI selfie camera, 4GB RAM, and Helio P22 launched
- Infinix Hot 7 Pro with four cameras, 6GB RAM, and 4,000mAh battery launched for 9,999 INR
- Infinix S4 with triple-rear cameras, 32MP selfie camera, and 4000mAh battery launched in India for 8,999 INR
Pumping power from under the hood is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC clocked at 2GHz. The same SoC also made it to company’s previous launch, the Infinix S4 2.0. And similar to the latter, the Infinix Hot 8 packs PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage with up to 256GB expandability support using microSD card.
The camera department is, however, not in the league of the Infinix S4 2.0. The triple cameras on the back of the Hot 8 include 13MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor, and a low light sensor. The front is laced with an 8MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture lurking inside the water-drop notch.
The biggest highlight of the smartphone is a mammoth 5,000mAh battery that claims 14 hours of video playback and 25.4 days standby time. On the software side of things, the Infinix Hot 8 runs XOS 5.0 based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner while a face unlock feature is also offered for biometrics.
Standard connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone tips the scale at 179 grams while measures 165×76.3×8.7mm in dimension.
