HP 419 All-in-One Ink Tank Wireless Color Printer Review

When it comes to tech, we often overlook the other amazing products that we have in this category. One of these products is a printer and this is probably the only category in tech that hardly gets any mainstream press at all. Not the people’s fault though, printers are not really a consumer product for everyday use. If you have a computer, you can make do without a printer and this is why this category never shines amongst others.

Today we have the HP 419 All in One Wireless Color printer that we are going to review today. Unlike our smartphone reviews, we will mainly focus on the printing and other included capabilities of the product. Let’s get started.

Design & Build

The design that HP imagined for this printer isn’t something very special but the printer does look really nice. It has a black body with blue accents in places like the paper tray and more. It also has an Ink Tank that stores the ink for the printer which means you can refill the ink in this printer quite easily.

The top has a lid that covers the scanner and the copier and the controls are located on the top of the printer as well. The paper tray is right at the bottom of the printer and the ink tank is located at the outer right part of the printer. All in all, this is a simple yet really nice looking design to make this printer stand out from the rest.

Ink Cartridge & Tank

The HP 419 All-in-One Ink Tank Wireless Color Printer supports various different types of Ink from HP and since it has switched to an Ink Tank instead of a cartridge, it is very convenient to replace the ink once it gets used up. You can use the following ink.

  • HP GT52 Original Ink Bottle (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow)
  • HP GT51 Original Black Ink Bottle

As per HP, a full Ink Tank on this printer and easily yield 6000 black and white pages and about 8000 color pages. This is exactly as per ISO standards that HP follows.

Installation and Refill

The setup took around 10 minutes and it was easy. We really like the ink filling system which has this some sort of anti-spill mechanism which ensures easy and hassle-free ink refilling. The manual provided with the printer has detailed step by step instructions of how to get started and within 10 minutes you will be ready to print, scan or copy.

All in One – Print, Scan & Copy

An all in one printer mainly comes with three main features – Print, Scan, and Copy. The Scan and Copy part is made possible with the availability of a scanner and it is really convenient.

Talking about the print and its cost, the printer can easily print black and white pages at a cost of 10 paise per page for black and white and for color printers, the cost shoots up to 18 paise per page. The printer can print a resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 optimized DPI in color and for black and white, you can print up to 1200 x 1200 rendered DPI.

Scanner & Copier

The printer can print a resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 optimized DPI in color and for black and white, you can print up to 1200 x 1200 rendered DPI. This is a good enough configuration for the printer to be used at a home or in an office. You can use it if you’re a regular printer user but the printer will definitely serve you well enough if you use it heavily.

Easy Mobile Printing and Scanning

Since this is a wireless printer, you can easily take advantage of the functionality and print whatever you want wirelessly through the HP Smart app. You can install the app on your smartphone or tablet and then connect directly to the printer without even the need to access the network. This makes things easy if you have a bunch of prints that you directly want to take out from your smartphone.

When it comes to great printers under Rs. 15,000, the HP 419 All-in-One Ink Tank Wireless Color Printer definitely is a great choice. The major points going to the simple and effective Ink Tank which allows you to refill the used ink very easily. Not only that, but the printing, scanning and the copy functions on this printer works great and it is definitely a great value for money.
