HOOQ makes India debut; subscription starts at Rs 199

Asia’s own video-on-demand service, HOOQ is all set to make its debut in India.  HOOQ is Asia’s first regional video-on-demand service which is a joint venture between Singtel, Warner Bros. Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television. It provided over 15,000 Hollywood blockbuster and local programmes to customers at anytime and anywhere in India. It offers online streaming access and an offline viewing option and can be used via any device like computers, smartphones, Android set-top boxes etc.


HOOQ offers one of the biggest library of classic Hollywood blockbusters and you can even watch TV series by using it. It has partnered with Warner Bros, Disney, Miramax etc. which means there is an extensive range of shows and movies. Some of the Hollywood movies offered are Harry Potter, Iron Man, Pulp Fiction and Spider –Man. TV series include Nikita, Grey’s Anatomy, The Shield and Friends. It also offers movies from India and covers major blockbusters from Bollywood, Kollywood and Tollywood.

HOOQ is completely ad free and it also offers download function for offline viewing of Hollywood movies and TV series. It also features an Internet bandwidth indicator to assess real-time connectivity and is capable of simultaneously streaming on 2 separate devices.

HOOQ will be available in India from June and customers can get the subscription through its website. It is priced at INR 199 per month.
