Honor 9N – The stunning selfie camera with a full view notch display

The Honor 9N launched in India on 24th July and it comes with some great features. The company has been focusing on providing great looking smartphones that also perform really well in day to day use. Last year, the Honor 7X took the crown to be one of the best looking and best functioning smartphones in its price segment. It came with a modern design, amazing colors and an 18:9 display that at that time was very rare to be seen on a mid-range smartphone.

Honor has repeated the same feat this year with the Honor 9N. The phone comes with a modern design with a Notch FullView display. Let us talk about Honor 9N and why we think that The display on the phone has a much more real estate area that not many phones out there offer.

Notch FullView Display

It has a 5.84-inch full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels which converts to a pixel density of 432 ppi. The display has an aspect ratio of 19:9 which makes the display taller and gives you more space on the display to consume media, play games etc.

The Notch on the display makes sure that the display on the phone gets some extra space instead of wasting the space around the notch, Honor is using that area to the users to give them a much more immersive feel. Due to the notch and thoughtful use of the space in the front for the display, the phone has a 79% screen to body ratio which is one of the highest ratios you will find on a smartphone that comes at this price range.

The Honor 9N gives you the functionality to hide the notch and turn the screen into an 18:9 display. The feature is known as Adaptive display. This will add a status bar around the Notch which otherwise would be an empty part of the screen to make things more immersive. But you can turn on adaptive display from the settings if that is something you prefer. Honor wants you to use you 9N the way you want it to.

Design & Build

The Honor 9N also boasts of a great design. Honor smartphones are known to be a bunch of great looking devices. The Honor 9N goes an extra mile to look great. On the front, it has a 5.84-inch display that covers 79% of the front part and the phone looks amazing from the front.

On the back, you have 12-layer mirrored 2.5D glass. This makes your Honor 9N look more premium and gives the back a mirror-like finish that makes Honor 9N look like a top end flagship phone. The phone’s back has a Nanoscale optical coating and also has narrow bezels for the display.

For the price, Honor 9N is definitely one of the best mid-range smartphones you can get out there. It has a beautiful design, it comes with a great Notch FullView display to provide you with the best immersive experience while you’re using the phone.

The phone is available in 2 beautiful colors Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black. The company will also launch 2 more colors soon – Lavender Purple and Robin Egg Blue.

Honor 9N – Everything Else

We already mentioned two important parts of the phone, the display, and the design but keep in mind that Honor 9N is a beauty with the guts to run a marathon. The phone has a Kirin 659 octa-core processor which you can get with up to 4GB RAM. That combination itself makes the phone a star performer when it comes to handling apps and games.

It also has a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back to take amazing photos with hardware level bokeh effects. There’s a 16MP selfie camera in the front as well. The front camera has a smart portrait mode for those bokeh selfies and it has a pixel that combines 4 pixels in 1 to give you more detail in your photos. This also helps you shoot better selfies in low light.

All in all, Honor 9N is a great package deal. It is a great performer that can handle your day to day routine normally while also being able to look good while doing all this. The Notch FullView display looks great and the design of the phone itself is also pretty great.
