Hero Electronix forays into consumer technology space debuting Qubo Smart Indoor Camera and a few Qubo Smart sensors
The Hero Electronix which is the electronics and technology venture of Hero Group has forayed into consumer technology products market with the announcement of a new brand named Qubo under which banner a range of AI-assisted smart devices will be launched in the coming months.
Qubo began its journey today with a few products out of which the Qubo Smart Indoor Camera is the flagship one, priced at INR13,490. The device is launched in partnership with Amazon for Alexa and Qualcomm for the chip.
Qubo Smart Indoor Camera can be used as a smart home hub to control and remotely manage various smart devices at home via Alexa. The camera has a 2.8-inch touchscreen and is powered by a Qualcomm Vision Intelligence Platform 100 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 128GB using microSD card.
The Qubo Smart Indoor Camera makes use of a 3.2MP sensor with FHD video recording capability, capturing a 140-degree field of view. It has night vision, two-way audio, as well as AI, features like person detection, face recognition, baby crying alerts, etc.
As per the company, the Smart Indoor Camera is tamper-proof and malware-protected. The users can also access news, music, and various reminders with their voice commands executed by Alexa.
Besides the Smart Indoor Camera, the company today also launched a few smart sensors, namely the Qubo Smart Gas Sensor, Smart Smoke Sensor, and Smart Door & Window Sensor. These smart sensors are designed to be compatible with Qubo Smart Indoor Camera.
All these smart sensors are priced at INR3,000 each and will be available along with the Smart Indoor Camera to purchase on September 27 via Quoboworld.com, and across all the leading online e-stores and offline channels.
The company has said it has invested INR400 core initially into the Qubo venture and additional INR150-200 crore is already on the cards as they see a revolution coming as smart devices are getting driven by technology trends like connectivity, cloud computing, AI and low-cost sensors.
