Dell India launches three gaming laptops: Alienware Area-51m, Alienware m15, and Alienware G7 15
To further bolster its PC gaming portfolio in India, Dell along with its subsidiary Alienware has launched three new laptops, the Alienware Area-51m, Alienware m15, and Alienware G7. These gaming laptops, however, before making their way to India were first launched at CES 2019 in Las Vegas back in January this year.
Dell touts the Alienware m15 to be the thinnest and lightest 15-inch Alienware laptop till date while the Alienware Area-51m is hailed as the first true desktop replacement. On the other hand, according to the company, the Alienware G7 15 with 19.9mm thickness is the thinnest ever G series laptop. Here is the complete run-down of each one of them.
The Alienware Area-51 is the world’s first gaming laptop that supports upgradable NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX cards. Under the hood, the laptop draws power from Intel’s 9th generation of Core i7 and Core i9 processors with 8GB RAM upgradable up to 64GB. The display is taken care of by a 17.3-inch FHD IPS panel.
The premium Alienware Area 51m features a magnesium alloy build with a three-knuckle-hinge design and Cyro-tech 2.0 Cooling technology. A 90W battery keeps the light on for the device.
The connectivity options include a Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port, three USB 3.1 Type A ports, HDMI, Mini Display Port, 2.5Gbps Ethernet port along with one graphics amplifier port. The Alienware Area-51m will be available in two color options: Lunar Light and Dark Side of the moon.
Designed for the gamers on the go, the Alienware m15 with a 15.6-inch FHD panel is claimed to be the lightest and thinnest in the Alienware lineup. It is a refreshed version of the last year’s Alienware m15 laptop and is powered by Intel’s 8th generation Core i7 processor coupled with NVDIA’s GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 Max-Q graphics cards, up to 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD drive.
A 60W battery pack keeps the device chugging along for up to 13 hours. However, it can be upgraded to up to 17 hours of battery life with a 90W battery. Interestingly, the AlienFX keyboard comes with customizable lighting including 6 zones.
Like the Alienware Area-51m, the Alienware m15 also employs Cyro-tech 2.0 Cooling technology to effectively dissipate heat for the device’s optimum performance. On availability, the Alienware m15 will come in two color options: Epic Silver and Nebula Red.
Alienware G7 15
Apart from the above two high-end laptops, Dell has also refreshed its G series with the new Alienware G7 15 laptop which is also more affordable. With 19.9mm thin design, it is so far the thinnest G series laptop. The G7 15 is driven by 8th generation Intel’s Core i5/i7/i9 processors aided by NVIDIA GeForce 20 series RTX graphics card alongside up to 16GB RAM.
On the display front, it packs a 15-inch FHD panel with up to 144Hz refresh rate and is optimized to play AAA game titles besides being geared towards everyday use. The Alienware G7 15 will sport a single color option that is Abyss Gray with silver accents.
Price and Availability
The flagship Alienware Area-51m is priced at INR2,99,590 for the base variant while the Alienware m15 starts at INR1,78,399. The Alienware G7 15, on the other hand, sets you back INR1,57,399 for the entry-level model. All the three laptops will hit the shelves on April 1 at all Dell’s official e-stores across the country.
