In 2016, all key Chinese players, especially the offline-centric brands, embraced the big selfie formula and ran with it. The front camera, which used to be referred to as secondary camera is no longer secondary. OnePlus 3 was one of the best and most adored Android phone this year and the company later upgraded it to OnePlus 3T which, among other changes, incorporates an improved 16MP selfie camera.

Gionee too tried the selfie formula with its S6s. The handset’s claim to Selfie club lies in its front camera fill flash, which works the same as Vivo’s Moonlight flash. The front 8MP sensor is also aided by an f/2.2 aperture 5p lens.
The handset looks quite premium, thanks to its metal body and the 2.5D glass layered on top of its 5.5-Inch full HD display. Other highlights include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3150mAh battery, and a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
Sony Xperia XA Ultra
Sony too launched a selfie focused handset, the Sony Xperia XA Ultra, with a 16MP selfie camera that also features Optical Image Stabilization to offset motion blur. The 16MP front camera is paired with an LED flash and 88 degree wide angle lens.
The handset comes with a large 6-inch full HD display and is powered by Helio P10 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage. The handset also features a 21.5MP Primary Camera with 1/2.4″ Exmos RS sensor. The handset is now available for 26,000 INR.
