Vivo XPlay 5 With 6GB RAM And Snapdragon 820 Launched

Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo has sets a new record with the launch of world’s first smartphone with 6GB of RAM- Vivo XPlay 5. This is the same company which earlier launched world’s slimmest smartphone with 4.75 mm- Vivo X5 Max that measured just 4.75 mm around the waist.

Vivo has introduced two variants of Vivo XPlay 5- the Elite variant comes with 6GB of RAM and Snapdragon 820 processor and the base variant includes 4GB of RAM and Snapdragon 652 processor. Vivo XPlay 5 is available in Champagne Gold and Rose Gold color options. This smartphone will be available for pre-order from March 8 onwards and will be rolling out from March 16 2016.

Vivo XPlay 5 boasts a 5.43 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED dual curved edge display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection against scratches. It is powered by 64 bit 2.15 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 820 processor / Octa Core Snapdragon 652 SoC along with Adreno 530 GPU. Both variants include 128GB of flash memory which is not expandable.

Vivo XPlay 5 packs a 16 MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX298 sensor and PDAF. It is also equipped with 8 MP front facing shooter with f/2.4 aperture. XPlay 5 houses a non-removable 3600 mAh battery inside and has a fingerprint scanner at the back.

Software is Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Funtouch UI 2.6 on top. XPlay 5 comes with Dual SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity. Other connectivity options include 3G / HSPA+, EDGE / GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Micro USB port, USB OTG.
