Zenbo – A Home Robot From Asus Steels The Show At Computex

Amidst Smartphones, tablets, smartphones that looks like tablets, tablets that also work as laptops, et al Asus also launched something unexpected – Zenbo, a $599 home robot that can help with healthcare and also with controlling smart homes.

Zenbo roams around on its own and can understand voice commands. It will remind you or your appointments, exercise routine and can also notify concerned authorities or relatives if an emergency situation arises.

The robot can also connect with smart appliances, smart lights, security cameras, and other smart components of your home. Zenbo can also read stories to kid, click family photographs, place calls for you over social media channels.

Since it is a first generation product, we expect there will be a few kinks which shall even out after a period of time.

The Zenbo is multifunction, its cute and it is reasonably cheap. Asus didn’t talk anything about technical details of Zenbo nor did it announce any shipping date. For now it only talked about the SDK for developers which will enable them to make cool apps for Zenbo. Registrations for the same will soon open.

Besides Zenbo, Asus made several interesting announcements like new Zenfone 3 lineup, new range of transformer notebooks and its new Zenbook 3.
