Xiaomi has today slashed the price of its popular phablet Redmi Note 4G by 2000 INR. Redmi Note 4G was launched and went on sale in December last year in India for a price of 9,999 INR. Now, Redmi Note 4G is better situated and available at Rs. 7,999.
Redmi Note 4G was the first 4G smartphone under 10,000 and soon started selling out of flash sale model. This fresh price cut should provide another boost to its sales. If we talk about specifications, Redmi Note 4G includes a 5.5 inch HD IPS display, 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera.
Redmi Note 4G powered by 1.6 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8928 processor equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory which can be further expanded by up to 32 GB via microSD card. It houses a 3100 mAh battery and running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with MIUI v5 on top.
Connectivity features of Redmi Note 4G include EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / A-GPS, USB OTG, Micro USB port and 3.5 mm audio jack.
As the market has evolved and now includes several 64 bit smartphones offering great value for money, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G didn’t make much sense at 9,999 INR. We would have liked a complete overhaul and the launch of Redmi Note 2 at this stage, but the price cut should work well too for Xiaomi.
After the price cut, this single SIM smartphone will compete with Lenovo A7000, Moto E 2nd Gen, and Yu Yureka in Indian smartphone market.
Redmi Note 4G is available on the company website- Mi.com, Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, mobile stores and Airtel retail stores for the price of Rs. 7,999.
