Xiaomi has today announced its latest budget handset Redmi 5A, which is the successor of last year launched Redmi 4A. Redmi 5A is available in Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold and Rose Gold color variants from today onwards and is priced at 599 yuan (somewhere around 5,800 INR).
Redmi 5A is fitted with a 5 inch HD display and is equipped with quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with clock speed of 1.4 GHz along with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of oonboard storage and an expansion slot for microSD card that takes up to another 128GB card.
Redmi 5A sports a 13 MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash light, aperture of f/2.2 and can shoot videos in full HD resolution. There is 5 MP front facing shooter which comes with f/2.0 aperture. It also has hybrid dual SIM slot which allows you to use second SIM slot as a microSD card slot.
This handset runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and employs a 3000mAh battery which offers you the whole day battery life. There is an infrared sensor so that you can directly control all electronic devices at your home with your handset.
It comes with plastic matte finish body which looks like metal and doesn’t come with fingerprint scanner. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, 3G / HSPA+, EDGE / GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GPS + GLONASS, Micro USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm audio jack.
