For everyone who loves extra-large display smartphones, Xiaomi just brought in its Mi Max phablet, which will retail for 14,999 INR in India. It will be available on Amazon.in, Flipkart, Snapdeal, Tata CLiQ and Paytm starting from 13th of July, 2016. It will also be available on mi.com from 6th of July. Registrations for sale will start from today onwards.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Mi Max (other than its humongous display, of course) is its software. The new Mi Phablet is running latest MIUI8 software (based on Android Marshmallow), which is more colorful, has an improved power saving mode, brings revamped system apps, and has a new notification shade.
Coming to hardware, the Mi Max is powered by hexa core Snapdragon 650 / Octa core Snapdragon 652 processor, which is paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 128GB of internal storage.
The chipset will be responsible for rendering pixels on the large 6.44-inch full HD panel. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 4 on top. On the camera front, Mi Max features a 16 MP primary sensor, with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash. A 5MP selfie camera is also present at the front.
Just below the camera module, you will also find a fingerprint sensor to assist with secure unlocking of your phone. A massive 4850 mAh battery is also present under the hood to cater to the large display size. Other features include 4G LTE, Dual SIM card support, Bluetooth 4.1, dual band WiFi ac, GPS and GLONASS.
