Xiaomi has finally launched its Mi 5 at an event in New Delhi, India which will be available to buy for Rs. 24,999. Mi 5 was originally launched last month at MWC 2016. This handset will be available in three color variants including Black, White and Gold. Customers can buy this smartphone through company’s official website (mi.com) from 6th April onwards.
Xiaomi has launched three variants of Mi 5 at MWC 2016- Mi 5 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory (standard edition), 3GB of RAM with 64GB of flash storage (prime edition) and 4GB of RAM with 128GB of inbuilt memory (pro edition). The company will sell only the ‘standard edition’ of Mi 5 in India.
Mi 5 features a 5.15 inch full HD display with curved glass and is equipped with 64 bit 1.8 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 assisted by Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. On-board storage is 32GB which is not expandable.
Mi 5 sports a 16 MP AF rear camera with dual tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 4-axis OIS and capable of 4K video recording. It also has a 4 MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide angle lens. It comes with 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. Mi 5 also has a fingerprint scanner embedded in home button.
Mi 5 runs on MIUI 7 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes with 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE and dual SIM support. Other connectivity options include 3G / HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack.
