At its annual developer meet, Apple introduced latest versions of Apple smartwatch software, named watchOS 4, Mac OS High Sierra, and even briefly talked about its tvOS. Of course, the iOS 11 was one of the primary highlights, but we have already talked about key iOS 11 features in a separate post. Let’s talk about the others.
The new WatchOS 4 is similar to WatchOS 3, but still it brings few new features. To start with, the Siri integration makes it smarter. Siri integrated watch faces relay pertinent information in real time. You will get to see reminders, messages, or even old photos on your watch based on their relevance in a particular point in time.
Apart from this, watchOS 4 also shows you reminders, traffic information, update you with all breaking news and other information. It can also connect and sync data directly with gym equipment (for partner manufacturers).
The new tvOS has an exciting update too. It will now be possible to enjoy Amazon Prime videos on Apple TV and new Apple TV app. According to Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, “apart from this, all news about tvOS will be announced later this year.”
On the other hand, Apple has also unveiled new desktop macOS which is called High Sierra. It also has no big change compare to last year’s OS. But Mr. Craig Federighi, SVP of Apple, said, “The company has spent a complete year to update and perfecting this OS.”
The new OS will support more powerful hardware and will make it simpler to create VR content. Safari too has been improved, and a notable addition is blocking of auto-video playback. Other features include sync for iMessages via iCloud, support for HEVC codec and new features in Photos App.
