Gone are the days of selfies, it is the time for stickers and GIFs. Stickers and GIFs are trending all around the world due to their uniqueness and stunning creative visuals. WeChat, one of the most popular instant messaging service has launched a creative sticker design competition for all those Indian students who are studying design. They need to design a creative, quirky and funny animated stickers for WeChat.
The winning sticker will exclusively be featured in the sticker gallery of the app. Apart from this, the winners will also get an exciting prize money worth INR 5 lakhs. Animated stickers are one of the most popular among youngsters. WeChat features close to 40 sets of local animated stickers specially dedicated to Indian users. Few of the most popular stickers are Angry Aunty, Mona Darling, Jabbar, Nautanki Baba, and also local lingo stickers like Bol Daal and many more.
WeChat has already announced this sticker challenge in various colleges of India. The contest invites students from 1800 colleges all across the nation including all art, design and animation colleges. Winners will be shortlisted in many categories like theme, mood, message, color, personality and connection with the audience.
Top 10 shortlisted winners apart from the top three winners will get a cash reward of INR 10k. Not only this, all the top ten winners will also get a chance to work as future design team of WeChat. The contest has already and will end on 15th July, 2015.
The entries for the initial round of WeChat Sticker Challenge have opened from 2 nd June and will close by 15th July 2015. The winners will be decided on the basis of voting by WeChat users.
