Vivo’s latest India flagship, the V5 Plus that was recently unleashed in India is definitely a selfie lovers delight. Equipped with dual cameras on the front, the handset is capable of capturing stunning self-portraits with DSLR-like bokeh effect that makes the selfie subjects stand out. The handset also employs capable selfie software and a moonlight flash which enables it to capture perfect selfies in every situation.
But the Vivo V5 Plus is not a one trick pony. Besides clicking awesome selfies, the handset excels in all areas and thus delivers a fulfilling and premium end user experience. And an important aspect of Vivo V5 Plus is its captivating design.
When we first held it in hands, we were instantly charmed by its tastefully crafted full metal body. The entire metal body is made from a single block of aluminum using advanced manufacturing processes. The U-shaped antenna bands on top and bottom further add class to the handset.
Even with three significantly large size image sensors and a beefy 3055mAh battery housed within, the Vivo V5 Plus is just 7.26mm thick. The power key and volume rocker are also made of metal and offer great tactile feedback. The ergonomic placement of these hardware keys together with one handed mode in Funtouch OS also facilitate single handed usage. The microUSB port, audio jack, and speaker grill are all placed on the bottom edge.
On the front, the handset is fitted with a very good quality 5.5-inch Full HD display panel that is layered with 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 5. The bezels around the display are extremely narrow which further adds to its appeal.
The dual SIM handset also has a home button right below the display that also integrates a fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is the always-on type and is extremely fast. Even though the home button is an actual button (and not just a trackpad), you don’t have to press it before unlocking the phone or even to use it as a home key. You can simply tap on it.
The Vivo V5 Plus has the fastest and most accurate fingerprint reader than we have ever seen in this price bracket and that make it really convenient to use. This isn’t one of those fingerprint sensors that you would use just for a week and then forget about. The double press on the home button can further be used to swiftly launch the camera app, Facebook app or to switch on the flashlight.
Above the display, you will find the two image sensors, earpiece, and the proximity sensor all dexterously positioned.
All the above-mentioned elements add up perfectly to make Vivo V5 Plus an extremely premium Android phone that makes all other phones in its class look cheap. The look and feel of a phone are always the first parameters to judge it on and we found ourselves admiring Vivo V5 Plus’s beauty over and over again. This surely qualifies as a big victory for Vivo.
