Sony has announced the Xperia ZR, a new waterproof smartphone under their Xperia Series. The device has a camera specially designed for underwater photography. It comes with a 4.55 inch Reality display powered by mobile Bravia Engine 2.
The phone runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and it is powered by a 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor along with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM. Xperia ZR comes with 8GB internal storage which can be expanded using a microSD card.
The device t has a 13MP back camera with LED Flash and VGA front facing camera for video calling. It has IP55 and IP58 ratings for dust and water resistance and can be kept in water for 30 minutes at a maximum depth of 1.5 meters.

Sony Xperia ZR would be available in Black, White, Mint and Pink color options. It is expected to hit the markets in Q2 2013 but there is no official confirmation about the availability. No Word on the pricing of the device.
