We always assumed that the first 4K Display smartphone, would pop up somewhere in China, but surprisingly, Sony is the one to achieve this first, leaving everyone else behind in the pixel density wars.
The device in question is the new flagship, Xperia Z5 Premium, which includes a 5.5 Inch 4K UHD (2160 x 3840) display amounting to mind boggling 800+ pixels per inches. Xperia Z5 Premium can scale up full HD and other lower resolution content to 4K to match the display.
The new Sony smartphone doesn’t deviate far from the now trite omni-balance language, but there are change nonetheless which you can appreciate. The rear glass panel now appears like a polished glass and it attracts very less smudges. Also, Sony has incorporated a finger print sensor merged with the power key which works accurately.
On the inside, Xperia Z5 premium is powered by 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 810 octa core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The MicroSD card included can accept up to 200GB of secondary storage.
The rear camera module has a 1/ 2.3 Inch 23MP ExmorRS sensor with f2.0 aperture Glens and LED flash, OIS and LED flash. On the front a 5MP camera is also present for selfies. You can record 4K videos from the rear camera. The camera app now has the option to click full resolution images. You can also save still 8MP images from 4K videos filmed from the phone.
Other features include 3430 mAh battery, NFC, 4G LTE, WiFi, IPX 5 / IPX 8 water and dust resistant certification, Android 5.1 Lollipop and Quick charge 2.0 support.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium will be available in chrome, black and gold color options starting this November. It will be available in both dual SIM and Single SIM variant.
