Sony has launched a new range of Android Bravia TVs and this range includes a super slim display TV which is just 4.9 mm wide. A total of 13 models in 5 series ranging from 43 Inch to 75 Inch screens have been launched in India.
The new smart TVs are running on Google’s Android 5.0 Lollipop based Android TV OS which means users will benefit from immense number of apps on Google Play store. This is good news for gaming enthusiasts, who can directly connect gamepad or other peripherals to their smart TV and enjoy gaming on extra large display.
Sony’s Android TVs come with features like Serial Abtak (for watching TV episodes you have missed), Notify Bravia (to get important phone notifications on TV), voice search, Google Cast, etc.
“Over 90 percent of Indian consumers use the Android platform for mobile phones and that is why we choose this platform for our new series of TVs,” said Sony India’s Bravia head Sachin Rai.
This series includes 4.9 mm slim Sony Bravia 4K LED TV in X9000C series which includes a new 4K processor X1 which can scale up content from conventional sources to match 4k screen. The TV is equipped to scale HD broadcasts in all popular formats in India and also supports HEVC and VP9 to support 4K distribution in India.
The new Televisions also include audio with ClearAudio+ for immersive surround sound experience. Bravia TVs will include greater quality sound to please audiophiles, but can also scale poor quality audio to high resolution.
This new range of Android Bravia TVs will be available in India on Sony Centers and all major retail stores starting from 69,900 INR.
