Sony has launched two New TV’s under the Bravia X Series 4K Televisions in India. The new 4K TV’s have been launched 55 inch and 65 inch variants. The 65 inch variant costs Rs 4,04,900 and the 55 inch one is priced at Rs 3,04,900. The prices are comparatively affordable as compare to other 4K TVs available in the market.
The 4K Bravia X Series TVs contains 8 million pixels (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) which is about 4 times the resolution of a full HD TV. These TV’s comes with powerful 4K X-Reality PRO processing engine which automatically scales up the content to 4K resolution irrespective of source.
According to Mr. Kenichiro Hibi, Managing Director, Sony India:
“Over the years, Sony India has established market leadership in flatpanel televisions category and we aim to further strengthen this position with the newly launched line-up of 4K BRAVIA™ televisions, in addition to the other series announced this year. BRAVIA is the largest category contributor towards overall sales of Sony India and contributed 35% towards the company sales in FY12. With the launch today, we are targeting a bigger market for 4K TVs by introducing the technology at a very strategic price-point. We will be increasing our BRAVIA marketing budget to Rs. 250 crore and channel counters to 7,000 in FY13”
The X9004A series of 4K LED TVs will come with TRILUMINOS Display technology to provide widr color gamut and more natural & vivid viewing experience. The X9004A series TVs also have World’s first Magnetic Fluid Speaker design which makes the loudspeaker thinner but more efficient.
These TV’s offer a wide range of connectivity features such as NFC (Few Models), WiFi Support and direct 3G dongle plug in. Sony would also launch 20 new Bravia models including the 4K Bravia TVs. Besides having the features such as X-Reality PRO and Triluminos display these TVs would also have a new design concept called as “Sense of Quartz”.
All the models in W series would come with Wi-Fi Connectivity, One-touch connect, direct 3G dongle plug in, MHL and TV SideView. The newly launched range of TVs will be available across all Sony Centers and major electronic stores in India.
