Sony India today launched the new RX10 III with newly-developed extended 25x super-telephoto zoom lens in India for Rs. 114,990. The camera has been designed for professional photographers who need to capture fast moving objects at a distance.

Apart from the 25x super-telephoto zoom lens with focal range of 24-600mm, the RX10 III includes a 20.1MP sensor 1.0-type stacked sensor, bright zoom lens and BIONZ X processor. The hardware allows you to capture high clarity 4K videos and even slow-motion videos at 1000 fps. The camera can lock focus in just 0.09 seconds according to Sony.

The primary highlight of RX10 III is its ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens which allows it to function in a range of different shooting conditions, from wide angle scenery shots to ultra-telephoto wild life photography. Eight ED glass elements work together to compensate for chromatic aberration in this large-aperture lens (F2.4-4.0). The Optical SteadyShot algorithm has been optimized for the lens design of the RX10 III and delivers up to 4.5 stops image stabilization.

The 1.0-type stacked CMOS sensor with DRAM chip which is back-illuminated to allow it to collect light more efficiently. The camera can function effortlessly in wide sensitivity range of ISO 64 – ISO 12800. The DRAM chip at the rear of the sensor temporarily stores and allows readout of large volumes of signal data which can be processed without delay, enabling super slow motion recording at up to 1000fps. With shutter speeds as fast as 1/32000 second, the electronic shutter (which can operate silently) performs comparably to mechanical shutters that don’t distort images.

Other features include triple lens rings for focus, zoom and aperture, each operable on the side of the lens for smooth operation, optimized handgrip for high-magnification large-aperture lens, a new focus hold button on the lens barrel that can be programmed as a custom function button and more.

A soft carrying case, LCJ-RXJ, will also be available for the new camera. Cyber-Shot RX10 III will be available in all Sony center and Alpha Flagship stores across India for 114,990 INR.
