Sony has launched its α9 mirrorless camera with one of a kind 35mm full-frame stacked CMOS sensor with 24.2MP resolution in India. The Sony α9 is priced at Rs. 3,29,990 and will be available from July 29 onwards.
The Sony α9 has tough magnesium alloy body with 1.3 cm (0.5 type) Quad-VGA OLED colour Viewfinder and 3.0-inch 14,40,000 dots TFT LCD display.
The new Sony camera supports extended ISO range from 50 – 204800. The sensor has 693 AF points that cover 93 percent of the image area and thus you can expect the focus to be fast and accurate.
Combined the BIONZ X processor, the camera can be used for continuous shoot with AF/AE tracking for 20fps. Since there is no mechanical shutter, the camera flaunts shutter speeds up to 1/32000 seconds.
The Sony α9 also has a 5-axis image stabilization system to offset vibrations and stutters during handheld shooting. The camera has dual slots, one for SD cards and one for SD/Memory Stick cards. Data can also be transferred between two cards. The camera also supports uncompressed 14-bit RAW format.
Other features include WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and micro HDMI connectivity.
Besides the camera, Sony also introduced a slew of lenses. The Sony SEL100400GM 100-400mm super telephoto zoom lens and the SEL1635GM 16-35mm F2.8 large aperture wide-angle zoom lens will be available from July 24 onwards for Rs. 1,99,990 and Rs. 1,79,990 respectively. The SEL1224G 12-24mm F4 G ultra-wide angle zoom lens, that’s already available at retailers, costs Rs. 1,39,990.
