SanDisk world leader in flash storage solutions launched two products in India on February 12, 2014 namely, SanDisk Extreme Pro and SanDisk Ultra dual USB drives.
SanDisk Extreme Pro has been designed to provide extremely high data writing speeds whereas Ultra dual is a flash drive with two mouths compatible with both a standard USB port and a microUSB port.
SanDisk Extreme Pro is a USB 3.0 compatible flash drive that offers high-speed durability that is fastest in this industry. It has approximately 60 times faster data transfer rate when compared with standard USB drives and providing storage capacity up to 128GB.
The data transfer speeds are up to 240MB/s for writing and up to 260 MB/s for reading which means it will take approximately 35s to transfer 1000 hi-resolution photos. The Extreme Pro drive comes protected in a durable aluminium metal casing and secure AES 128 bit file encryption and password protection.
The other flash drive launched is SanDisk Ultra Dual USB drive which is a sturdy flash drive featuring both a micro-USB and a USB 2.0 connector. The standard USB connector we know where is it used but the micro USB port is especially designed to eliminate the use of OTG cables for data transfer because the micro USB connector can now be directly connect the flash drive to smartphones and tablets. To facilitate the better organization of files stored on internal and external phone memory for management, viewing, copying and backup, SanDisk has alos lanched an Android app called SanDisk Memory Zone app which is available for download on the Google Play Store. The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB drive is available in 16GB to 64GB variants.
Pricing and Availability
The SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 flash drive is available worldwide for an SRP of Rs. 16,388 whereas the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB drive is available for Rs. 1,199 for 16GB and Rs. 3,800 for 64GB. Additionally, the drives are backed with a lifetime limited warranty and after sales customer support.
