Samsung Omnia is the first window powered smartphone by Samsung. Samsung has change the software platform to Windows instead of Google’s Android OS for this device for just a change because there are plenty of handsets available in the Android range. The device will give tough competition to “HTC Radar” that is also a window powered phone.

It is expected that the Omnia W is designed to target the mid range market, the device is consider as an upgradation to Omnia 7 which was launched a year ago. This time the device is featured with some top notch specs and is having elegant looks.

it comes with a 3.7- inches Super AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen which has 480 x 800 pixels resolution with 16M colors. The display also has the features such as Multi touch input method, Accelerometer Sensor for UI auto rotate, Gyro Sensor, Proximity Sensor etc.

Processor & OS

It is actually the latest Microsoft Window’s (7.5) Mango OS that is really stylish and classy. The mango update brings dozens, if not hundreds of new features to windows phone. The new features include multitasking,  totally new browser, fast apps switching etc. The device is integrated with 1.4Ghz single core processor to satisfy your need for speed.


The measurement of the device is 115.6 x 58.8 x 10.9mm and the lightweight of 115.3grams while sporting 10.9 mm thickness.


Samsung Omnia is equipped with 5MP camera which is topped with  2592 x1944 pixels resolution, autofocus, LED flash.  it can take excellent quality of images and videos (720p) @30fps. There is an additional VGA camera so that the user can make video calls which is located at front side.


The device is having 512MB RAM, 16GB of mass storage that is inbuilt which is quite enough whether you are saving images or uploading songs. Unfortunately the device do not support any additional card slot to expand the memory which can consider as a downline for the device. 512MB ROM


It has all the basic connectivity options on board to connect web and share data with other devices features include 3G HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP & microUSB2.0. In 3G connectivity users can get to speed Internet up to 14.4Mbps.

Avaliablity and price of Samsung Omnia W

The device will made its official debut first in Italy from the end of October and then will move to other regions like south west asia, Africa, south east & latin America.  No idea on pricing details, but if Samsung claims it is the affordable in its class, we’ll hold them to their words.
