Samsung has upgraded it’s A series portfolio for 2016, and the South Korean giant will stick to the A3, A5, and A7 branding for the second time. The core principle of A series phones remains same. All of them will flaunt slim metallic bodies, further embellished by AMOLED panels.
Samsung’s Fingerprint sensor module and OIS will also trickle down to mid-range Galaxy A5 and A7 handsets. All three will be running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box instead of Marshmallow, at least in China.
The Galaxy A7 (2016) includes a 5.5 Inch full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by 1.6GHz octa-core chipset with 3GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded upto 128GB via MicroSD card slot.
Camera hardware includes 13MP rear shooter with OIS, and a 5MP front camera, each with F1.9 lens. Other features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+, USB 2.0, NFC and 3300 mAh battery with rapid charging supported.
The Galaxy A5 (2016) on the other hand has a smaller 5.2 Inch full HD display, 2GB RAM (Vs 3GB in Galaxy A7) and a slightly smaller battery capacity of 2900 mAh. Other hardware remains same. It will be a better alternative for anyone who prefers more manageable devices.
Galaxy A3 (2016) further trims down specifications but should be more than acceptable proposition for the right price. It includes a 4.7-inch HD (1280×720) Super AMOLED display and is powered by 1.5 GHz Quad Core processor with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage (Expandable). Other features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+, USB 2.0, NFC (UICC) and 2300mAh battery.
