Samsung launches Galaxy S5 4G in India for Rs. 53,500

Samsung Mobile on July 18, 2014 launched the Samsung Galaxy S5 4G variant in India. The smartphone though was launched in March earlier this year but did not support 4G LTE due to restrictions by the chipset. Samsung had launched the S5 with the in-house built exynos chipset earlier but now they have launched the Qualcomm Snapdragon variant too in India.

The Snapdragon variant supports eight bands of 4G LTE with two additional features namely Download Booster and Wi-Fi MIMO which makes the S5 one of the fastest multimedia device.

Download booster allows users to simultaneously provide 4G and WiFi resulting in a speed more than what 4G can offer. Basically it combines the speeds to combine network. Samsung Galaxy S5 is the world’s first smartphone to come with the WiFi MIMO feature which supports WiFi 802.11 ac protocol and multi input multi output with two WiFi antennas to double the connection speed.

Rest everything remains the same as the earlier Exynos variant, with IP67 certification, advanced camera etc.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be available for Rs. 53,500 in all the 4G enabled telecom circles starting July 20. Samsung has also tied up a partnership with Airtel to provide free 5GB/month 4G data for two months to its consumers under a promotional offer. This variant of Galaxy S5 will be available only in Copper Gold, Charcoal Black and Shimmery White color options.
