Samsung’s Gear S2 is indeed a very appealing and innovative attempt at cracking the wearable market, but if it doesn’t match your style statement all that tech slickness is of little value. Afterall, watches are fashion accessories first. Understanding this need, Samsung has added three new Gear S2 variants in India (two for Gear S2 Classic and one for Gear S2).
Gear S2 Classic will now be available in Platinum and Rose Gold variants, complemented by premium leather straps, in Ivory White for the Rose Gold and Black for the Platinum, for 34,900 INR. On the other hand, you can also get the option for Gear S2 White for 24,300 INR.
In total, Gear S2 portfolio now includes 5 options, the other two being Gear S2 Classic Black and Gear S2 Black.
Mr. Manu Sharma, Director, Mobile Business, Samsung India Electronics, said, “Gear S2 is a sleek and smart wearable that enable users to augment and personalise their mobile experience and lifestyle. The introduction of these new variants with additional apps and watch faces will further add to the style and convenience quotient. Samsung Gear S2 is a true testimony to our commitment to provide breakthrough technology to make lives of our consumers richer.”
Samsung has also added new dial faces and applications, like My Notes in Gear, to Gear S2 as well. A host of new games which make use of rotating dial have also been added.
To recap, Gear S2 is Tizen OS based smartwatch which incorporates an intuitive rotating bezel, which makes navigation simpler. Gear S2 includes a 1.2-inch (360×360 pixels) Circular Super AMOLED 302PPI display, 1 GHz Dual-Core Exynos 3250 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal memory and 250 mAh battery.
The watch is also water and dust resistant, includes a heart rate monitor, NFC, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
