Besides Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic, Samsung also launched Gear VR headset in India for 8,200 INR. The new Gear VR powered by Oculus is 22 percent lighter than developer edition, has improved foam cushioning and also includes an improved Touchpad.
The VR headset is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge only. The principle working concept is same as that of say, Lenovo Theatremax or Google Cardboard. You can fix your phone in the headset and enjoy immersive 360 degree videos using your smartphone.
The new Samsung Gear VR measures 201.9 x 116.4 x 92.6 mm and tips the scale at 310 grams. It includes 54 ~ 70 mm fixed lens, accelerometer, Gyrometer, proximity sensor and will be available in frost white color option on Flipkart and select offline stores including Chroma and Reliance Digital.
